POSITION SUMMARY

The Attendance Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely student attendance records in compliance with state and district requirements. This role supports campus operations by ensuring data integrity, promoting student accountability, and assisting in interventions to improve attendance outcomes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred
  • Previous experience in a school setting or administrative role preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Proficiency in student information systems and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of student attendance policies, Texas Education Code (TEC), PEIMS reporting requirements, and FERPA regulations.
  • High attention to detail with accuracy in data entry, recordkeeping, and documentation.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills when working with students, families, and staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems, with the ability to analyze data and resolve discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Frequent interaction with students, parents, and staff
  • May require extended periods of sitting and computer use
