The Counselor manages the full admission cycle from initial prospect engagement and eligibility assessment to final matriculation. This role is pivotal in curating a high-caliber cohort of future healthcare professionals who align with the University's mission.The Admissions Counselor reports to the Assistant Director - Recruitment and Retention on respective campus.Strategic Student RecruitmentCollaborate with admissions leadership to design and execute data-driven recruitment strategiesManage high volume of one-on-one meetings and phone calls with prospective students and applicantsRepresent the university at key external events, including national conferences and college visits, to build brand awareness and engage with potential applicantsCandidate Advising & Enrollment CounselingAct as a dedicated subject matter expert for prospective students, providing tailored guidance on program curricula, student support services, educational financing options, and career trajectoriesNavigate candidates through the complex enrollment lifecycle, serving as a primary advocate to resolve barriers and improve "lead-to-applicant" conversion ratesServe as the primary point of contact for prospective students, helping them navigate forms, deadlines, connecting with student support services, and financial resources with professionalism and empathyHolistic Application EvaluationExecute a comprehensive review of applicant credentials, analyzing academic rigor, clinical exposure, and mission-fit to identify top-tier candidatesAdhere to all institutional policies and deadlinesInterviews & Public EngagementFacilitate structured interviews to assess applicant motivation, emotional intelligence, and alignment with healthcare professional standardsParticipate in the applicant selection process which may include applicant screening and interviewingDeliver high-impact presentations to diverse stakeholders, leveraging persuasive communication to articulate the unique value proposition of the university's programsStakeholder Engagement & Relationship BuildingCultivate a robust network of faculty, alumni, and healthcare industry partners to create a sustainable pipeline of professional referralsEngage with applicants and students at milestone events like open houses, orientations, white coat ceremonies, and information sessions, fostering a sense of belonging from day oneCollaborate for SuccessWork closely with faculty and administrators to refine the admissions process and ensure ATSU programs remain competitive and compliant with industry trendsCollaborate across departments to elevate the program's reputation and visibility within the professional healthcare communityRecord Keeping and ReportingMaintain accurate records of applicant information, decisions, and communication within the CRMMay also be responsible for generating reports on admissions statistics, applicant demographics, and other relevant dataRequirementsEducation & Experience: Four Year College Degree Required; No minimum experience required.KnowledgeLogistical Coordination: Highly organized with a proven track record of managing complex schedules and competing prioritiesDecision Making: Knowledge of project management in order to lead a large portfolio of student applicants and varied academic programsSkillsStrong public speaking skillsExcellent written communicationsProven technical aptitudeAbilitiesCross-Functional Collaboration: Adept at building rapport and working effectively within diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
