POSITION SUMMARY
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is looking for an innovative and dynamic Athletic Facility Manager to join our team! This position will assist in the management and operation of the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex. In addition to planning, organizing, and directing athletic reservations, tournaments and stadium events, this position will also lead staff trainings and have an integral role in continued professional development amongst our team. The incumbent will have an important role in reviewing and completing reservation requests, planning for large events, managing vendors and contracts, and working with the maintenance team to ensure the facility is ready each day. Additionally, the Facility Manager will have opportunities to explore new marketing strategies, facility management solutions, and other areas of innovation to ensure the facility continues to be at the forefront of premier athletic facilities. The preferred candidate would have strong experience in event operations and be well-versed in creating and maintaining strong professional and community partnerships. This full-time position will require some evenings, weekends and holidays based on event schedules.
Facility Information: The Mecklenburg County Sportsplex, recognized as the 2023 Sports Field Management Association (SFMA) Professional Soccer Field of the Year, is a premier regional sports complex situated on 175 acres in south Charlotte, North Carolina. The Sportsplex features nine synthetic turf multipurpose fields, two championship-quality natural grass multipurpose fields, and a 5,000-seat natural grass stadium. The facility hosts a robust year-round schedule of local, regional, and national events, serving youth, high school, collegiate, amateur, and professional athletics. Designed to accommodate a wide range of field sports, the complex regularly hosts soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, rugby, football, and other athletic competitions. Recent marquee events include the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Soccer Championships, Pop Warner National Championships, MLS NEXT Pro matches, the U.S. Open Cup, Big South Conference and South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Soccer Championships, SAC Lacrosse Championships, professional and international team training camps, and numerous national and regional tournaments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in recreation programming; One (1) year of supervisory experience or completion of an approved supervisory training program
Education: Bachelor''s degree in Recreation Administration, Park and Recreation or a related field
Combination of relevant experience and education accepted?: Yes
Licenses/Certifications: Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License and County Driving Privileges
Computer Skills: Proficient in various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to learn and run reports in Active software and Advantage
