Position Overview

Peck Community Schools is seeking a dynamic, student-centered leader to serve in a dual role

as Athletic Director and Dean of Students for Grades 6-12. This position combines

leadership of the district's athletic programs with student support and discipline responsibilities

at the secondary level. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, relationship-driven, and

committed to fostering both academic and extracurricular excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Athletic Director Duties

Provide leadership, organization, and supervision of all middle and high school athletic

programs

Ensure compliance with all league, conference, and MHSAA regulations

Coordinate game schedules, transportation, officials, and facility usage

Hire, supervise, and evaluate coaching staff

Manage athletic budgets, equipment, and inventory

Promote sportsmanship, student participation, and community engagement

Oversee eligibility and academic progress of student-athletes

Organize athletic events and support fundraising initiatives

Dean of Students (Grades 6-12) Duties

Support building administration with student discipline and behavior management

Foster a positive school climate focused on respect, responsibility, and safety

Work collaboratively with students, staff, and families to address behavioral and

attendance concerns

Monitor student attendance and intervene when concerns arise

Serve as a visible and approachable presence throughout the school day

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required (Education, Administration, or related

field)

Valid Michigan teaching certificate and/or administrative certification preferred

Experience in athletics (coaching or administration) strongly preferred

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community

members

Knowledge of student discipline practices and restorative approaches preferred
