Athletic Coach (All Sports)

Colorado Academy seeks dynamic and passionate Athletic Coaches to support our athletic programs across all sports. The ideal candidate will have a strong enthusiasm for working with students and be comfortable coaching a variety of sports, skill levels, and age groups. There are three athletic seasons during the school year with different sports in each season. Coaching occurs at varying times during the day: Middle School sports occur mid-day while Lower School and Upper School sports occur primarily after school (some early morning or weekend practices may occur for Upper School sports depending on the sport and season).

Candidates will be required to:

  • Lead and support practices, drills, and athletic activities as directed by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and development-focused team environment.
  • Instruct student-athletes on fundamental skills, rules of the game, and sportsmanship.
  • Supervise students in various athletic settings, including practices, competitions, locker rooms, and transitions.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes at all times.
  • Assist with setup, breakdown, and organization of equipment and facilities.
  • Adhere to all school policies, athletic guidelines, and ethical standards.
  • Communicate effectively with Athletic Department staff regarding practices, games, and student needs.

Compensation: The pay range for this position is dependent upon level and assignment and may range from $500 - $7500 for the season. As a part-time seasonal position, no additional benefits are provided.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience coaching, teaching, or working with youth in an athletic setting is required.
  • Strong knowledge of one or more sports, with willingness to support multiple programs.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varying skill levels.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.

All coaches at CA are expected to carry out the CA Mission, "Creating Curious, Kind, Courageous, and Adventurous Learners and Leaders," to support the vision of the Upper School, and to contribute to the life of the school outside of the classroom.
