Assistant Resident Director – Residence Life & HousingThe University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking an Assistant Resident Director (ARD) to join our team of live‑in staff providing front‑desk and mail operations, resident support, and student staff supervision across our on‑campus residential communities.Salary Range : $40,209 - $46,045 annually. You will live on campus and participate in an on‑call rotation with other residence life staff.Essential Functions :Organize and support front‑desk and mail operations for both residential villages.Supervise student staff: lead Front Desk Assistant, up to five Front Desk Assistants, and up to five Mail Clerks.Maintain package and mail delivery using StarRez software.Maintain mail‑room standard operating procedures and a clean, organized environment.Build positive relationships with residence life staff, Campus Services, UCCS Police, Dean of Students, Recreation and Wellness, and other departments.Serve as primary contact for inventory of supplies, storage rooms, and departmental property.Create a positive living environment that supports academic achievement, personal growth, and community belonging.Develop and deliver engaging residential programming suited to the residential population's demographics.Educate staff and residents on policies and community standards.Facilitate resident involvement in events, programs, and leadership opportunities.Maintain residency visibility and provide individual resident support for personal, academic, and social concerns.Mediating conflicts and enforcing community standards.Lead student staff in goal setting, performance monitoring, and compliance with residence life policies.Conduct student staff performance evaluations regularly and during annual departmental reviews.Ensure student staff meet GPA and credit hour requirements.Provide guidance on university policies, procedures, and resources.Coordinate semesterly move‑in, kick‑off week, and RA training.Other duties as assigned.Confidentiality : ARDs must maintain strict confidentiality of all student information in compliance with FERPA and institutional policy.Qualifications :Bachelor's degree required (experience may substitute).Experience as a Resident Assistant preferred.Experience with student affairs software such as StarRez, KX, or RoomPact preferred.Ability to learn and apply new skills in programming and service excellence.Equal Opportunity Statement : CU is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing nondiscrimination.
