ASSISTANT MANAGER OF COLLECTIONS

Annual Starting Salary: $76,476

Under general supervision, assists in the administration of the daily operations of the City's revenue collection systems, and performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Supervises or assists in supervising staff performing customer service, clerical and administrative duties pertaining to the collection and tracking of revenues collected within a unit or program
· Reviews refund requests, payment issues, administrative releases, correspondence to customers and resolve various payment related issues from the payment center and ticket helpline.
· Manages parking, red light, and speed violation fines.
· Delegates work for the customer service teams.
· Oversees customer service mailboxes and voicemails.
· Completes staff evaluations to ensure staff meets the required standards for position.
· Ensures program is in compliance with departmental and City policies and procedures.
· Troubleshoots and assists in relevant payment issues (e.g., parking ticket payment errors,
· payment adjustments for cashiers and law firms).
· Manages off-site staff and collects related reports.

Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE
· Fifteen (15) semester hours in Accounting from an accredited college or university, plus eight (8) years of professional accounting experience or revenue collection experience, of which one (1) year is in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position.
OR
· Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate’s degree in Accounting or a directly related field, plus six (6) years of professional accounting experience or revenue collection experience, of which one (1) year is in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position.
OR
· Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate’s degree, with at least 15 semester hours in Accounting, plus six (6) years of professional accounting experience or revenue collection experience, of which one (1) year is in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position.
OR
· Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a directly related field, plus four (4) years of professional accounting experience or revenue collection experience, of which one (1) year is in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position.
OR
· Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in Accounting, plus four (4) years of professional accounting experience or revenue collection experience, of which one (1) year is in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position.
OR
· Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree or higher in Accounting or a directly related field, plus three (3) years of professional accounting experience or revenue collection experience, of which one (1) year is in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position.
OR
· Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree or higher with at least 15 semester hours in Accounting, plus three (3) years of professional accounting experience or revenue collection experience, of which one (1) year is in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position.

This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise and/or skills assessment as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview, will be selected.
