The Associate University Counsel will manage a diverse portfolio of commercial transactions, providing legal advice to university stakeholders on issues such as revenue generation, athletics, development, infrastructure, and campus events.

Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating complex agreements related to technology, data privacy, intellectual property, business operations, and capital projects, as well as supporting entrepreneurial and cultural initiatives.

Applicants should have a law degree, North Carolina bar membership or eligibility, and at least three years of relevant experience; five years in higher education transactional law is preferred.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate expertise in technology/data transactions, development agreements, athletics, healthcare/research, or supporting innovation within complex organizations.

Additional qualifications include mentoring junior staff and collaborating across departments to ensure legal compliance and strategic support.
