Associate Scientist - Biology II
Location: Foster City, CA (Onsite, Monday–Friday)
Pay Rate: $44.54/hr
Duration: 6 Months contract with possible extension

Job Description

Seeking an Associate Scientist to support Protein Sciences activities for CAR-T and cell therapy programs in a bench-focused laboratory role. Responsibilities include recombinant protein expression, purification, analytical characterization, and reagent preparation to support downstream assays.

  • Execute recombinant protein expression workflows using mammalian cell culture and transient transfection systems
  • Perform protein purification using AKTA chromatography systems including affinity, size exclusion, and ion exchange chromatography
  • Conduct protein and antibody characterization using SDS-PAGE, Western blot, UPLC/HPLC, and Octet/BLI assays
  • Support antibody and protein conjugation workflows with analytical follow-up
  • Prepare reagents and materials for downstream cell-based and flow cytometry assays
  • Maintain electronic lab notebooks, LIMS documentation, and adherence to SOPs
  • Support laboratory operations including reagent inventory, consumables management, and equipment maintenance
  • Generate reproducible experimental data supporting Protein Sciences research activities

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Protein Science, or related scientific discipline
