Overview:

TRC Companies (TRC) is a national engineering and energy efficiency consulting firm that provides integrated services to the energy, environmental, and infrastructure markets across the United States. TRC serves a broad range of clients in the public and private sectors, implementing energy efficiency programs and complex projects from initial concept to delivery and operation.  

 

TRC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Field & Safety Associate Project Manager to lead the coordination and execution of complex projects and program offerings. This position focuses on managing project deliverables, ensuring data accuracy, and implementing quality assurance procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and organizational skills, the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring alignment with project objectives 

 

The Field and Safety Associate Project Manager will lead our field efforts overseeing our subcontractor, managing program inventory, developing and maintaining field processes and tools, promoting best practices for field operations, and upholding safety lawsregulations and protocols. This position is responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of the program, maintaining technical tools, performing technical reviews of projects, and conducting project scoping. This position supports our Louisville Gas and Electric and Kentucky Utilities Income Qualified Solutions Program for single family and multifamily customers. This position will act as a liaison between our subcontractors and the program team. Internally, they will work with our operations, outreach, IT, management, and support teams to achieve the client’s energy efficiency and decarbonization goals. Externally, they will oversee our subcontractor’s team of field auditors and installers to ensure the program participants of single-family homeowners and multifamily residential dwellers receive a positive respectful experience with the program. This position will also be responsible for performing QA/QC for projects to ensure that the products were installed correctly and abide by program standards. As a liaison between the program team and our subcontractors, they will forecast the equipment we need to order based on the program pipeline and the installers schedules. The position will ensure that all staff in the field will undergo proper training and procedures periodically and that all field staff are accountable for upholding safety in the field.  

 

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills to coordinate efforts between internal and external stakeholders to promote program success. They will have a strong understanding of residential building optimization and energy efficiency technologies. They will need the technical knowledge and experience to be a subject matter expert to oversee and QA/QC projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with income-qualified, hard-to-reach, disadvantaged communities, or affordable housing, and understand how to approach this community with sensitivity and respect. They will have a collaborative mentality and be able to work well with a cross-functional team to promote positive culture and ultimately achieve program goals. The ideal candidate is passionate for the sustainability and energy industry and excited to contribute to energy equity in the local communities.  

Responsibilities:
  • Support the coordination and execution of complex projects and program offerings by coordination deliverables, resolving project issues, and ensuring seamless collaboration across team members, stakeholders, and subcontractors. 
  • Actively contribute to project goals and organizational objectives by aligning efforts with project milestones, collaborating with internal and external parties, and ensuring compliance with procedures and contract requirements. 
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by utilizing standard resources, templates, and tools to process, review, and analyze project data. Develop and maintain field data collection and reporting tools. 
  • Develop and maintain training, standard field operating procedures, field tools, safety guidance and best practices for subcontracted field auditors and installers. 
  • Identify trends, establish efficient practices, and implement process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance project outcomes and operational efficiency. 
  • Prepare and independently produce detailed reports, presentations, and materials for client leadership and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project objectives. 
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and update project status throughout the project’s life cycle. Provide regular updates to promote project participation and maintain transparency in project progress and outcomes. 
  • Assist in the development and field implementation of quality assurance procedures for projects and tools to verify data integrity and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. 
  • Perform technical review of desktop applications to ensure program requirements are met.    
  • Promote adherence to safety protocols and foster a safety-oriented culture across all projects and with subcontractor. Uphold safety regulations, laws, and values by promoting safety training, incident documentation, and safety best practices.    
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, project participants, and contractors to ensure smooth project participation and compliance. 
  • Ensure program participants had a positive experience with their energy upgrades. Address customer experience issues and complaints. 
  • Oversee program inventory of residential energy technologies and manage based on project pipeline and the subcontractor’s installation schedule.  
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or relevant field and 4+ years of work experience in project coordination, administrative support, management. OR 
  • A combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered in place of a bachelor’s degree in a related field. 
  • Experience with single family or multifamily residential energy efficiency, electrification or building envelope design.  
  • Experience working with suppliers, contractors or installers.  
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to execute joint goals.  
  • Well spoken, expert communicator with strong written and verbal skills.  
  • Proficient in MS Office tools (i.e. outlook, word, excel, teams, SharePoint).   
  • Residency in Kentucky or in close proximity to LG&E-KU territories. 
  • Valid driver's license and working vehicle.  
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within LG&E-KU territories. 
  • Eligible to work in the United States. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • BPI Certification, or desire to obtain. 
  • Experience with residential single family or multifamily property owners or managers.  
  • Experience with income-qualified, hard-to-reach, disadvantaged communities.  
  • Advanced interface with CRM or project tracking system to update fields, reporting, suggest process optimization, test, and support users.  
  • Experience with SnuggPro or Dynamics365 CRM systems are highly desirable.  
  • Experience with utility incentive or rebate programs.  
  • Experience with energy field audits and installation.   
  • Strong teamwork skills that include highly effective communication in‐person, over email, and over the phone. 
  • Awareness and familiarity with Kentucky energy efficiency landscape, related regulatory requirements, and key players.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

 

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
