Description
San Joaquin Delta Community College District is seeking a full-time tenure track Professor of Counseling in the Counseling and Retention TrAC. The ideal candidate will share in the colleges commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the general supervision of the assigned TrAC Dean, the Professor will provide comprehensive academic, career, transfer, and personal counseling, as well as teach classes in Counseling. The successful candidate will provide evidence of knowledge and understanding of the racial, socioeconomic, and academic diversity within community college populations; the candidate also will show knowledge and understanding of how these factors relate to the need for equity-minded and culturally-responsive practices in the community college setting.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicant must meet the minimum educational qualifications set forth by the District and the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office.
Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling,
OR
the equivalent
(NOTE: A bachelor's degree in one of the listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline.)
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Supplemental Information
The maximum starting salary is $123,972 annually.
The salary range is based on the 2026-2027 academic year schedule.
