Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a good understanding of networking infrastructure and physical IT Infrastructure components. They will have working knowledge of installing, terminating, and troubleshooting copper, fiber, and patch panels and cable management systems. Have familiarity with BICSI standards, Rack/Cabinet builds, rack and stack hardware, install wireless access points, and ability to complete fiber and low voltage installs/upgrades. They should have a security-first mindset and have a basic understanding of network topology concepts (WAN, LAN), Networking concepts (VLANs, Spanning Tree, Routing, Subnets, IP Adress Management), and be able to troubleshoot effectively across a wide range of issues, including servers, VOIP, and Layer 1 networking problems. A strong background in documentation, TR Design, data center infrastructure, capacity planning, and determining infrastructure requirements is essential. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, have a willingness to learn, adapt, and excel in collaboration with the IT team, vendors, and business partners, with different cross teams across the District, and understand the value of providing a world-class customer service experience.
