Job Description Summary:

This position supervises the daily operations of the medical imaging team, ensuring the delivery of services for their areas of clinical care. Specific responsibilities include staff training, customer experience, staffing oversight, interdisciplinary collaboration and guiding the team to problem solve. This position reports to the Administrative Manager of Medical Imaging and has direct reports including Team Leads/Supervisors and staff level associates within the department. The Associate Manager carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with OhioHealth policies and applicable laws. This leader sets priorities for the Team Leads/Supervisors to ensure front line tasks are completed as pertaining to departmental goals and objectives. Other responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work within the imaging department. The role receives guidance from the Administrative Manager and has an active role in interviewing, hiring, payroll, performance evaluation, recognition, performance management, and addressing staff/patient concerns.

Responsibilities And Duties:

50% Daily Operations:
Maintains daily department operations including status of staff and staff workload.
Assists Manager with budgetary & fiscal management.
Assists Manager in accountability for ongoing delivery of patient care.
Monitors daily charges in conjunction with the leadership team.
Serves as a resource and imaging representative to the multidisciplinary team for clinical and operational topics and concerns.
Provides off shift leadership coverage to support manager and provide leadership visibility.
Provide leadership coverage during manager time off.

40% Personnel Management:
Participates in recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel.
Ensures appropriate orientation, training, and competency validation of personnel.
Conducts staff coaching, performance reviews and disciplinary action.
Serves as a resource for patient care.
Develops in-service educational materials and conducts instructional programs for personnel on clinical and operational topics.
Ensures compliance with appropriate regulations and standards of care and quality Medicare, TJC, etc. and participates in survey readiness along with the leadership team.

10% Continuous Improvement:
Participates in strategic planning.
Engages in continuous process and quality improvement related to improving clinical care.
Initiates changes in clinical processes with assistance of leadership and interdisciplinary teams.
Works on projects, policy and procedure development and assists with product evaluations.
Provides quality control and troubleshooting of patient care devices.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree: Radiologic Technology

Additional Job Description:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • State Driver’s License.
  • Associate’s degree.
  • ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, ARDM – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, NMTBC – Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
  • Field of Study: Radiology Technology.
  • Field of Study: Ultrasound, MRI, or Nuclear Medicine.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

  • Graduate of an approved accredited Radiology technology program, ultrasound program, or nuclear medicine program.
  • Registered with the ARRT, ARDMS or NMCBT.
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Ohio.
  • Thorough knowledge of various medical imaging procedures & equipment and of the handling and administering of ionizing radiation to include contrast media agents.
  • Knowledge of computer systems within imaging.
  • Experience as Radiologic Technologist, Ultrasonographer, or Nuclear Medicine technologist with supervisory experience, preferred.
