Job Description and Duties

This position is located in the city of Sacramento.

Under the supervision of the Regional Director in the Northern Sierra District, the Lead District Employment Coordinator (LEC), also known as the Regional Business Specialist (RBS), an Associate Governmental Program Analyst, helps lead efforts to support people with disabilities in finding and keeping jobs. The LEC/RBS works with different teams across the district to provide training, job preparation, and build relationships with businesses. They also help carry out strategies to increase job opportunities and make sure communication with large, regional employers is clear and consistent. The Northern Sierra District runs the federal Vocational Rehabilitation Services Program, which helps eligible individuals reach their employment goals through training, technology, and job placement. An additional component of the job requires the LEC/RBS to engage with employers to meet their diverse needs.

Note: The work of this position requires up to 40% fieldwork and travel in the community.

Telework: Under Government Code 14200, this position is a hybrid, in-office/telework position, and may be subject to change. Incumbent must live and work in California. Incumbent can be required to report to the office, or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and/or cancelled at any time.

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ):

The SOQ response is limited to two single sided pages typed in 14-point font in either Arial or New Times Roman.

  1. Describe your experience developing and maintaining relationships with businesses or community partners to support job development and placement. Include how you marketed employment services or the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities, and how you ensured consistent communication across regions or districts.

  2. Provide an example of how you collected, analyzed, and applied labor market data or employment trends to support program development or service delivery. Explain how your analysis informed decisions or improved employment outcomes for individuals with complex barriers.

  3. Discuss your experience developing and delivering training to staff or external partners. Highlight how you ensured consistency in employment-related services and describe any training you provided related to disability sensitivity, employment preparation, or workforce development policies.

  4. Explain a time when you led or coordinated a district-wide or regional employment initiative (e.g., job fair, work experience program, job club). Describe your role, the stakeholders involved, and how you ensured the program supported consumers with significant employment barriers.
