POSITION TITLE: Associate Financial Analyst

DEPARTMENT: Financial Planning & Analysis

  • POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics; bachelor's degree in finance preferred
  • FP&A experience preferred with a knowledge of profit and loss statements, corporate budgeting/forecasting, and a passion for corporate finance
  • Experience with financial information systems is preferred

MAJOR DUTIES:

Conduct each aspect of a complete financial analysis with assistance from the Assistant Business Controller including data gathering, model construction and creation of presentation documents. Participate in the corporate planning process, the expense tracking process and production of both business unit and corporate level reports. Position may be assigned system administrator responsibilities related to various financial and budgeting systems.

  • Update existing financial analyses for various fund, client and corporate initiatives
  • Construct financial models in order to answer questions, apply sensitivity analysis and test recommendations
  • Seek and understand sources of data for input into analyses and models
  • Document all information sources, assumptions and analytics
  • Communicate (verbal, visual and written) with Assistant and Business Controllers through presentation and analysis of data
  • Interact with Decision Support associates and other departments to obtain and provide information
  • Oversee the activities and review the output of Data Coordinators. Identify expense trend variations and provide explanations
  • Participate in the corporate level planning process (Budget/Forecast); includes data entry, detailed revenue and cost analysis, reconciliation and tracking against plan
  • Prepare business unit and/or corporate level management and Executive management reporting
  • Develop, maintain, test and implement MIS (budgeting) software
  • Reconcile data from the MIS system with all related systems such as Oracle Financials or Hyperion Essbase/SmartView
  • Enhance knowledge of Federated and financial services industry through continuous training and education

HOURS/LOCATION:

  • 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Overtime as required)
