Client Overview:
Our client is a large global biotechnology company focused on researching, developing, and commercializing innovative therapies for patients with serious diseases. They are now looking for an Associate Director of Vendor Management and Patient Support Services.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$95/hr - $100/hr

Position Overview:
The Associate Director of Vendor Management and Patient Support Services will lead the strategy, oversight, and performance management of external partners supporting patient access and support programs for a growing biopharmaceutical organization. This role will establish vendor accountability through performance monitoring, governance processes, and continuous operational improvement initiatives. The Associate Director of Vendor Management and Patient Support Services will collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, market access, compliance, legal, finance, medical, and operations stakeholders to support business objectives and patient needs. This individual will oversee third-party service providers delivering solutions related to patient access, reimbursement support, contact center operations, adherence programs, and other patient-facing services while driving a high-quality patient experience aligned with organizational goals, compliance standards, and operational excellence expectations.

Responsibilities of the Associate Director of Vendor Management and Patient Support Services:
  • Lead strategic oversight and governance of external partners supporting patient-facing programs and operational services.
  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics to drive vendor accountability, service quality, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment on program goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support contract management, financial oversight, and vendor-related business initiatives.
  • Lead projects related to vendor operations, program enhancements, and new service implementations while ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulatory requirements.
Required Experience/Skills for the Associate Director of Vendor Management and Patient Support Services:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field is required.
  • 8+ years of experience in vendor management, patient services, market access, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement support, or related healthcare/pharmaceutical operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading vendor transitions, program launches, and operational transformation initiatives in a complex environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in project leadership or cross-functional leadership roles managing competing priorities.
  • Strong experience managing third-party vendors within a regulated healthcare or pharmaceutical setting, including performance oversight and governance.
  • Deep understanding of patient support program operations, including hub services, access and reimbursement support, and patient engagement models.
  • Proven ability to develop and track KPIs, SLAs, and vendor performance scorecards to drive accountability and improvement.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Associate Director of Vendor Management and Patient Support Services:
  • Advanced degree such as MBA or MPH.
  • Experience in complex patient support programs such as Rare Disease or Specialty Therapeutics.
  • Experience with vendor transitions, program launches, or operational transformation initiatives.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree required.
