Position Title Associate Director of Student Rights & Responsibilities FLSA Exempt FT/PT Full Time Hours Per Week 37.5 Work Schedule Monday-Friday Grade 17 Compensation Range $78,659-112,090 The posted salary range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position. Actual starting salary will be based on qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity considerations. Summary
The Associate Director of Student Rights & Responsibilities serves as the primary case manager and outreach coordinator for the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities (SRR). This position supports the director in the development and implementation of student procedures, policies and programs related to community standards (conduct), ASSIST Team (behavioral intervention), civil rights related complaints (Title IX, Title VI, etc.), and non-clinical support case management. They will serve as the primary case manager for the ASSIST Team and serve in a variety of roles within the college's civil rights response procedures to support issues involving students. The position will help enhance and implement both formal and informal procedures to adjudicate issues and address student support needs in a fair, equitable, and compliant manner. They support the director as a liaison between the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities, other campus departments and outside resources.
Essential Role Responsibilities
Adjudicate policy violation concerns, implement individualized intervention plans, address student behavior issues and review student concerns
Serve as a campus resource and deliver high quality student education, support and advocacy regarding student behavior matters
Support the development of student behavior policies and procedures

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING
The college's required training program, annual Title IX training, civil rights investigator certification, threat assessment certification, other training that supports expertise in student behavior management, crisis management, risk reduction

College policies and procedures, manuals, and publications (catalogue, student handbook, credit and non-credit schedule of classes, brochures, advertisements, and forms), industry publications and resources, campus display monitor manuals and updates, Colleague and other computer software/hardware/peripheral manuals
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications Physical Demand Summary
Fast-paced, deadline-driven working environment. Concurrent management of numerous tasks, some with conflicting priorities. Periodic local and distance travel. Some evening and weekend hours required. Flexibility required. Regular in-person attendance is a requirement for this position.

Howard Community College offers competitive salaries, excellent medical and dental selections, tuition reimbursement and paid leave programs. As a participating member of the Maryland Retirement and Pension System, HCC offers two retirement options: The Pension, which requires a 7% employee contribution and The ORP, a 403(b) with a 7.25% employer contribution only. Employees in positions that do not require a bachelor's degree must participate in The Pension. Employees that possess a bachelor's degree and hold professional positions that require a bachelor's degree may choose to participate in either The Pension or The ORP.

Due to HCC policy, only employees living in states contiguous to Maryland are eligible for work at HCC and include Virginia, West Virginia, Washington DC, Pennsylvania. Candidates must live in the commutable area or willing to relocate at their own expense if offered the position because HCC does not offer relocation benefits.
