The Associate Director of Athletic Advancement is responsible for securing annual gifts ranging from $100 to $24,999 to support the strategic needs of the Greyhound Club and Athletic teams. This person will collaborate with numerous internal and external stakeholders to implement annual giving and event strategies in alignment with the direction set by the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Advancement. Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Advancement and reporting line to the Deputy Athletic Director for External Operations. This position will provide day-to-day oversight of two Graduate Assistants and student workers for the Greyhound Club. This person is responsible for implementing fundraising and engagement strategies as it relates to annual gifts with a focus on fostering positive, professional relationships with annual donors and emerging major gift donors.
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
- 0-3 years fundraising experience or experience working in a non-profit setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, including the demonstrated ability to communicate well in writing and speaking before large groups.
- Knowledge of athletic fundraising, alumni relations, and advancement communications preferred.
- Ability to travel independently across the United States as needed.
- Valid Driver's License.

- Bachelor's degree required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Graduate Assistants and Student workers
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for securing a minimum of 100 visits annually with donors and asking them for philanthropic support.
- Develop and execute a plan aligned with the strategy set by the Senior Director of Athletic Advancement to connect alumni, parents, friends and donors to the University.
- Plan and execute the annual membership drive for the Greyhound Club.
- Plan and execute annual giving strategies including email, mail, phonathon, and events.
- Plan and execute alumni and sport-specific engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with appropriate advancement and athletic staff to develop prospect strategies and build relationships, and identify emerging major gift prospects.
- Solicit alumni and friends of the University to support the Greyhound Club, athletic teams and other campus priorities.
- Represent the University of Indianapolis in a professional manner, at all times.
- Occasional evening and weekend duties are required.
- Host or co-host receptions and other donor events locally and regionally, including hospitality for home football and basketball games.
- Provide stewardship of gifts including coordinating recognition events, dedications, and working with the Office of Advancement on appropriate recognition.
- Ability to utilize Raiser's Edge (donor database) and GiveCampus (giving platform), within the standards and expectations of the Office of Advancement to keep donor data and information up to date and coordinated.
- Ensures compliance with all NCAA Division II & Great Lakes Valley Conference Rules and Regulations and attends NCAA rules education and Title IX sessions.
- Participate in athletics external team meetings and relevant Advancement meetings as required.
- Become familiar with and understand key initiatives of the University relating to athletics faculty, students, instruction and research.
- Continually improve professional competency through training and participation in and/or leadership in professional, organizational and other not-for-profit organizations.
- Follow the guidance and direction of supervisor(s).
