Major/Essential Functions

  • Investigates and adjudicates cases of individual and organizational Student Conduct, including, but not limited to referrals from student complainants, faculty and/or staff members, the Texas Tech Police Department, University Student Housing, and academic integrity referrals.
  • Creates individualized, educationally-based sanctions, conditions, and/or restrictions for individual students who are found responsible for violating that Code of Student Conduct.
  • Assist with reviewing and assigning cases.
  • Assist with development of material for the Office. Assists with campus presentations, education, and outreach efforts related to the Conduct process and the Code of Student Conduct.
  • Assists in the development of strategic planning, document creation, Panel hearing training, and policies and procedures related to administration of the Office of Student Conduct.
  • Assists with the development of annual goals and the annual report specifically related to areas of responsibility and for other programs and services administered through the Office of Student Conduct.
  • Assists with annual revisions of the Student Handbook and Code of Student Conduct for final approval through the Board of Regents.
  • Assists with the Office of Student Conduct database management software, Maxient.
  • Assists with crisis intervention and academic/personal referrals to University departments and community agencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in higher education, social work, criminal justice or related field preferred.
  • Experience with Clery and other compliance reporting.
  • Experience with data collection and analytics.
  • Experience investigating and adjudicating cases of student conduct.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Maxient software.

Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Four years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
