Summary of Position
Provides strategic leadership anddirection for multiple programs or major functional areas within the department/division. Plans, develops, and implements organizational initiatives with significant operational scope and complexity. Assists higher level administrators as applicable to the assigned area in the general oversight of operations and services as related to any assigned program, initiative, or objective, including supervision of staff. Works under direction and receives assignments and orders in general terms and is usually expected to complete an assignment within a determined time frame but is free to work out the details and sequences. Interprets regulations, policies, etc. for the guidance of other employees or the public; administers regulations and/or policies.

Position Information
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Oversees Graphic Services regular and student employees. Oversees social media student staff-providing art direction, content planning and management for a number of social media accounts within the Division. Reviews text and art content for posts.
Initiates and implements new programs related to the student experience and provides leadership for collaboration with other University departments. Provides approval for expenditures for Welcome Week, Homecoming, and other budgets as assigned.
Manages and develops student union signature programs as assigned; promotes institutional pride and a sense of belonging for our current students.
Assists in management of contracted services such as food service, janitorial service, pouring rights, and the campus vending service.
Assists in the creation and planning of website designs; manages page updates; provides art direction, guides content, critiques updates, and maintains sites; establishes timelines.
Assists in the management, execution, and design on projects and renovations for Student Affairs facilities as assigned. Maintains and updates artwork and signage within Kilcawley Center.
Develops, implements, and evaluates policies and procedures for assigned areas. Interprets and adapts broader organizational policies to meet the specific needs of the department.
Participates directly in the strategic planning process for the department. Develops long-range plans, goals, and objectives for assigned areas aligned with broader organizational strategy.
Directs the overall planning, implementation, and evaluation of multiple program areas or a major department/division function with significant operational complexity and resource requirements.
Provides general oversight and administration of any assigned program, initiative, or objective, including supervision of staff. Assigns and reviews work; establishes timeframes for the completion of assigned tasks; trains and orients new employees; approves/disapproves requests for paid leaves; interviews candidates for employment and makes recommendations for hire; evaluates employee work performance; receives and responds to grievances; helps with the development of unit work procedures and policies.
Researches and makes recommendations to supervisor regarding assigned area's policies and procedures as it relates to completion of work and/or provision of services; administers regulations and/or policies.
Prepares reports and other information/documentation to assist the supervisor in strategic planning of the assigned area.
Manages daily tasks related to one or more assigned components of a department's/division's overall programs and/or services.
Designs and delivers training materials and/or other supporting documentation necessary for the operation of the assigned area.
Analyzes complex data sets and prepares comprehensive reports with recommendations for leadership.
Researches and recommends process improvements for departmental operations on a routine or regular basis. Evaluates effectiveness and recommends enhancements of services.
Participates and/or leads complex projects, including implementation plans, timelines, and resource requirements.
Coordinates daily tasks related to one or more assigned components of overall programs and/or services as assigned.
Regularly communicates with supervisor and other staff, including student workers, as required or needed in the completion of daily tasks in support of overall goals and objectives.
Prepares and maintains accurate records of daily tasks in accordance with applicable policies and procedures and assures timely communication with supervisor, staff, and students where appropriate.
Gathers data and prepares reports and other information/documentation for supervisory review?related to programs and/or services, or one or more assigned components.
Prepares for and attends events.
Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; participates in staff development activities; attends meetings, conferences, and other events.
Other Functions and Responsibilities: Trains new hires.
Performs other duties as assigned and/or required that are within the level of responsibility for this classification at the discretion of the supervisor.
Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment.
Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday. Occasional nights and weekends, as needed for events.

Supervision Exercised: Supervision is exercised over staff and student employees.

Minimum Qualifications: At least a bachelor's degree; at least four years of experience in event planning and program implementation; and at least two years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Relevant work experience in graphic art and web design. Degree in student affairs, higher education or related field.

Physical Requirements: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform light work.
Light: work involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, requiring: (1) walking or standing to a significant degree; (2) sitting most of the time while pushing or pulling arm or leg controls; or (3) working at a production rate pace while constantly pushing or pulling materials even though the weight or the materials is negligible. (The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.)
