Job Description Summary

MUSC Community Physicians MCP is an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout the state of South Carolina. The Senior Manager is responsible for participating in long-range strategic planning and short-range implementation to ensure the Ambulatory clinics are managed in a consistent manner that embraces patient-centered service service excellence standards and utilized efficient operational processes.

Job Description

Senior manager for one or more functional areas of a department or business unit. Manages two or more professional and support staff including subordinate managers. More discretion and greater financial authority than lower management levels. Manages and leads the analysis planning implementation and expenditures and budget tracking of major operational projects or initiatives. Provides recommendations to the leaders throughout the organization. Manages initiatives strategic priorities and programs which have an impact on the organization. Works independently and in collaboration with leadership to support the budget process and meeting key operational goals. Plans organizes facilitates monitors and evaluates activities and functions of the departmentfunctional business area based on employeeorganizational goals. Collaborates with leaders to establish operating procedures enhance clinical and non-clinical workflows increase productivity and improve overall quality outcomes and operational efficiencies within a variety of delivery settings.

In addition to providing operational oversight to leaders for Ambulatory this role is a key collaborator with the relevant departments and a thought leader in ambulatory quality and safety coordination of care across the continuum use of technological tools and solutions metrics reporting customer service and process improvement.

Minimum Education and Experience -------------------------------

Bachelors degree in a clinical field health care management business administration or a related degree or equivalent experience required. Masters degree in healthcare related field such as Nursing Healthcare Administration or MBA is preferred.

Five 5 years of management work experience in ambulatory care leadership role or appropriate clinical area required demonstrated ability to work effectively with physician leaders talent in the selection and mentoring of a high-quality effective team proven ability to lead change organize teams and delegate responsibility appropriately proven ability to use data to drive performance improvement strong written and verbal communication skills.

Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Work Experience --------------------------------------------

Ability to maintain 2040 vision corrected in one eye or with both eyes. Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. Ability to match or discriminate between colors.
