Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEA Master's Degree with a major in Nursing and a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse. Med Surg experience preferred.   Must hold an unencumbered registered nurse license to practice in Mississippi.  Must satisfy a criminal history background check, drug screen, and other clinical requirements.  Teaching experience preferred.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.Aptitude1. Maintain current professional credentials and certifications as required in respective field.2. Cooperate in the execution of the college, center, division, and program policies, procedures and guidelines.3. Implement teaching strategies that engage learners in active learning.4. Utilize cutting-edge technology in teaching in the classroom, laboratory, simulation center, and clinical setting.5. Complete required professional development activities by designated deadlines.6. Participate in other professional development activities, professional associations, presentations, publications, applied educational research, consulting, evaluations, and similar activities which enhance the individual, the health-related profession, and the education profession. 7. Maintain and provide current documentation of all professional requirements (NAH Faculty and Staff Canvas Site: Faculty Professional Requirements). Attitude1. Conduct oneself in a professional manner appropriate to the time, place, and type of teaching/learning experience.2. Consistently follow College policies and procedures.3. Consistently follow Nursing and Allied Health procedures and guidelines.4. Consistently follow program procedures and guidelines.5. Demonstrate fairness in the assessment and evaluation of students.6. Collaborate with others to improve educational experiences.7. Accept responsibility for personal behaviors and actions.8. Respond to feedback in a receptive manner.9. Participate in student/faculty and faculty/administrator evaluations and performance review conferences.10. Maintain professional boundaries with students in all interactions.11. Willingly serve on College, Center, division, and program committees as appointed. 12. Demonstrate active engagement by participating in program assessment and evaluation, including College annual planning activities and state and/or national accreditation activities.AttendanceWork a minimum of 35 hours each week (including campus and clinical assignments) during each contracted semester. Meet all assigned classes, lab, simulation, and clinical assignments.   Arrive on time and stay for assigned length of time for all duty days.   Notify immediate supervisor in a timely manner of any unplanned tardiness or absence.   Submit to program chairperson an accurate record of attendance  by designated deadlines.  Request scheduled time off prior to an absence unless there is an emergency.  Attend general faculty, center, and program meetings.  Attend required professional development activities. Attention1. Check College e-mail during the work week and respond in a timely manner.2. Provide feedback to students in a timely manner.3. Maintain confidentiality of student information.4. Submit documentation required by College or Program by published deadlines.5. Follow program chain of command to communicate issue or concerns, utilizing College Policy, Procedure, and Personnel Manual (refer to My.Hinds: College Manuals).6. Set aside sufficient time for student conferences, guidance, and tutorial assistance (Minimum of six (6) hours per week required). Appearance1. Present a personal appearance in keeping with established Hinds Community College Dress Code (refer to My.Hinds: College Manuals).2. Follow program dress code requirements.3.
