Amazon"s Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to provide products counseling support within Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS offers a wide range of IT products and services for cloud customers, including on-demand compute, storage, database, messaging, and other software-as-service products.

In this role, you will serve as an attorney supporting the AWS Platform Experience organization, working closely with internal business clients to advise on complex legal issues, support new product and feature launches, and provide subject matter expertise on regulatory and compliance issues.

The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. Key job responsibilities

  • Identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies;
  • Advising on regulatory issues (including privacy-related issues);
  • Overseeing compliance, negotiating strategic technology agreements and providing input on business strategy;
  • Developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways; and
  • Helping build processes that address risk and allow the business to innovate and scale quickly.

A day in the life

In the a typical day of an Associate Corporate Counsel in AWS Products Legal, you may conduct meetings with several of your client teams to discuss upcoming product launches, provide advice on draft contracts to a business lead, develop a strategy document for a novel legal issue impacting AWS, and attend a meeting with business leaders to review an important project.
