Job Summary Examines heartbeat patterns on electrocardiograph (EKG) monitors to detect any abnormal heart rhythms. Assists physicians in emergency responses to heart irregularities. Observes an electrocardiograph (EKG) monitor and examines heartbeat patterns to identify any abnormal variations in heart rhythms. Recognizes emergency situations and informs physicians so immediate medical action can be taken. Records the hearts electrical activities using an EKG monitor and checks the quality of recorded material. Orders and stocks supplies as necessary. Prints an EKG report detailing a patients cardiovascular condition for physician interpretation and diagnosis.
