  • Provide legal research and analysis on regulatory, statutory, and compliance issues, including multi?state insurance, privacy, and emerging regulatory frameworks (e.g., CCPA/CPRA)

  • Support contract lifecycle management, including review of historical agreements and entry into the companys customized Galaxy contract management system

  • Assist the General Counsel in managing the organizations legal affairs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies

  • Manage and interface with outside counsel as needed

  • Support intellectual property matters, including trademark administration and renewals

  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders across HR, finance, compliance, sales, and operations

  • Contribute to process improvement in a small, high-volume legal department where adaptability and initiative are critical

Required Qualifications

  • Admission to the California State Bar strongly preferred (bar eligibility acceptable in limited circumstances, depending on scope of work)

  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience, ideally in:

  • In-house legal departments

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in regulated industries (insurance, financial services, healthcare, benefits administration)

  • Comfort operating with limited structure and evolving priorities

  • High grit factor with the ability to manage volume without constant oversight

  • Direct communication style and respect for hierarchy and process
