TempExperts is sourcing for a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join a nationally recognized practice group in its Detroit, MI office. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven, team-oriented attorney with 34 years of experience who is looking to deepen their expertise in a high-volume, sophisticated labor and employment practice.
The ideal candidate brings strong writing skills, solid litigation experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment handling complex employer-side matters.
Responsibilities:
- Represent employers in wage and hour class and collective actions.
- Handle single-plaintiff employment litigation matters in both state and federal courts.
- Advise and counsel clients on a broad range of labor and employment issues.
- Assist with union negotiations and labor relations matters.
- Manage OSHA-related compliance and enforcement issues.
- Respond to and defend EEOC charges and related agency proceedings.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings.
- Conduct legal research and manage all phases of discovery.
- Participate in motion practice, settlement conferences, and negotiations.
- Support trial preparation; trial experience is a plus.
Requirements/Education:- 34 years of labor and employment litigation experience required.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school required.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills required.
- Experience with discovery, motion practice, and litigation strategy required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a professional, client-focused approach required.
- Exposure to client relationship management or business development preferred.
- Active member in good standing of the Michigan Bar required.
- Candidates awaiting admission must be eligible for timely Michigan Bar admission as a condition of employment.
