Technical Skills & Qualifications: Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Licensure: Active North Carolina law license in good standing. Bar Exams: Recent North Carolina UBE passage is strongly preferred to facilitate license transfers to other states. Legal Knowledge: Foundational understanding of federal debt collection laws (FDCPA) and North Carolina state civil litigation procedures. Software Proficiency: Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) for document drafting and case management. Experience: 03 years of experience in bankruptcy, collections, civil litigation, or related legal fields. Functional Responsibilities: Caseload Management: Oversee a high-volume caseload, managing files from initial filing through post-judgment execution. Litigation & Advocacy: Perform legal research, draft pleadings, and provide oral advocacy during court hearings. Travel: Travel to various courts throughout North Carolina to represent clients and attend proceedings as required. Negotiation: Interface with opposing counsel to negotiate and settle cases efficiently. Strategic Advisory: Analyze case law to provide well-reasoned recommendations and guidance on regulatory risks. Collaborative Reporting: Partner with the Managing Attorney to report on case progression, results, and overall activity. Multi-Jurisdictional Growth: Pursue additional bar admissions in surrounding states (SC, TN, FL, VA, MD, MI, OH) to support the firm's regional footprint. Behavioral & Professional Skills: Communication: Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional correspondence and courtroom presentation.
