Associate Attorney Default & Real Estate Litigation
Location: Colorado (Preferred: I-25 Corridor Colorado Springs to Fort Collins)
Schedule: Hybrid / Flexible Remote
Compensation: $95,000 $125,000 (DOE) + Benefits
About the Opportunity
Our growing multi-state law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Colorado default servicing and real estate litigation practice. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hands-on litigation work, and values flexibility and work-life balance over traditional billable-hour structures.
The position offers the opportunity to handle a combination of foreclosure/default matters and related real estate litigation, while working closely with experienced attorneys in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle contested foreclosure and default-related litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Attend court hearings throughout Colorado as needed
- Draft pleadings, motions, responses, affidavits, and legal correspondence
- Prepare exhibits, hearing materials, and court filings independently
- Communicate directly with borrowers, pro se litigants, opposing counsel, courts, and clients
- Manage and monitor litigation deadlines and case progression
- Assist with foreclosure reviews and related default servicing matters
- Maintain compliance with client timelines and statutory requirements
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff across the firm to support litigation and default operations
Qualifications
Required
- Active Colorado Bar license
- 24 years of legal experience preferred
- Ability and willingness to attend in-person hearings across Colorado
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage high-volume caseloads with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable handling both substantive legal work and administrative litigation tasks independently
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
Preferred
- Experience in foreclosure, default servicing, real estate litigation, creditors rights, family law, or high-volume litigation environments
- Experience working with pro se litigants or clients in emotionally sensitive situations
- Familiarity with Colorado state court procedures and motion practice
