Confidential Employer.Job DescriptionManage civil litigation defense matters from initial pleadings through resolution.Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, case evaluations, status reports, and settlement-related materials.Prepare and respond to written discovery, review client documents, and analyze liability, damages, records, and evidence.Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, experts, corporate representatives, and other key stakeholders.Attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, pretrial conferences, and other court proceedings.Develop litigation strategy, evaluate exposure, and provide practical recommendations to clients, insurers, and claim professionals.Assist with trial preparation, including motions in limine, witness preparation, exhibit review, jury instructions, and trial strategy.Communicate directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, attorneys, and support staff.Handle challenging legal work with professionalism, discretion, strong judgment, and increasing independence.QualificationsActive license to practice law in Indiana.2+ years of civil litigation defense experience.Experience with insurance defense, general liability, medical malpractice defense, construction defect, transportation defense, professional liability, long-term care defense, or related defense litigation.Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, case evaluations, and client status reports.Experience taking or defending depositions.Experience attending hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, or court appearances.Ability to communicate with insurance carriers, claim professionals, corporate clients, or business clients.Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and case management skills.Comfortable managing a litigation caseload with partner oversight.Proficient with Lexis, Westlaw, Microsoft Office, and legal case/document management tools.Professional, motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.Why You Will Love Working HereYou will get hands-on litigation defense experience and direct exposure to active cases.You will work with experienced attorneys who value mentorship, training, and professional development.You will build practical skills in depositions, motions, court appearances, client reporting, and trial preparation.You will be trusted with meaningful responsibility while still having access to partner guidance and support.You will join a team that values advocacy, collaboration, open communication, integrity, and long-term career growth.BenefitsDental insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insurance#J-18808-Ljbffr
