Job Summary:Represent institutional mortgage lenders and servicers in bankruptcy matters with a focus on protecting and enforcing secured‑creditor rights in Chapters 7, 13, and 11. Provide end‑to‑end legal strategy across the lifecycle of a bankruptcy case, including proof of claim, motions for relief from stay, plan review and objection, loan modification and loss‑mitigation oversight, and post‑petition compliance. Advise clients on complex bankruptcy, servicing, and investor‑guideline issues to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize financial risk, and maximize recoveries while maintaining borrower‑facing and court‑facing credibility.JOB REQUIREMENTS5+ years of experience working as an Attorney in the Bankruptcy arena, at least 1 year representing creditors in North Carolina Bankruptcy CourtsIn good standing and an active member of the BarStrong communication and writing skillsProven abilities to manage multiple responsibilities at once and know when to reprioritize and effectively manage a high case volume in a fast-paced and ever‑changing environmentKnowledge of federal, state, and local laws and rulesAbility to analyze case law and provide recommendationsMust be able to attend hearings and mediations throughout the State of North CarolinaKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EDUCATIONJuris Doctor from an accredited law schoolMust possess strong written and verbal communication skillsMotivated self‑starter, with the ability to multi‑task, as well as to manage and prioritize multiple projectsProficient with superior attention to detailPossess the ability to work under various pressures and meet strict deadlinesProficiency with Microsoft Office products and generally at ease with utilizing technologyOverall great attitude and willingness to adapt to changeMust possess superior organizational skillsCan identify and resolve problems in a timely mannerGathers and analyzes information skillfullyCan work a case file from start to finishBalances team and individual responsibilities while contributing to building a positive team spiritExamine ways to improve and promote qualityPossess an analytical thought process and uses critical thinking skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
