Assists the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) in ensuring effective broad scope radiation safety services to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centers and affiliated hospitals. Monitors and plans operational services in support of clinical and research uses of radiation sources. Performs quality assurance audits to ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Provides technical assistance and expertise in the treatment of patients undergoing brachytherapy and radiopharmaceutical therapy. Responds to emergencies as needed, taking on-call on a rotating basis.
Job Description:
Under the direction of the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), oversees the operational aspects of the radiation safety program to verify compliance with radiation-related regulations, permits, and policies. Ensures that the program is implemented in compliance with applicable policies and regulations and in accordance with commitments to affiliated hospitals.
