Overview and Responsibilities

Job Summary

Job responsibilities:

• Serve as assistant coach for NCAA Division III intercollegiate womens hockey program.

• Travel to regional and national recruiting events, identifying and prospecting potential recruits for womens hockey program.

• Perform essential coaching duties including, but not limited to

• on-ice coaching

• skill development

• scouting of opponents

• practice planning

• Video work

• Coordinate office tasks such as mailings, e-mail communication, visit correspondence, travel scheduling, equipment inventory, budget oversight, social media, etc.

• Oversee, direct and supervise part-time staff and student-workers as needed.

• Support, respect, and advance the mission of Saint Marys University as a Lasallian Catholic institution.

Salary Range: $31,000

Qualifications

Experience and Education Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree, required.
• Masters Degree, preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience coaching womens hockey in a high school or college setting.
• May consider other acceptable equivalent combinations of training and experience.

Physical Demands

• Light work. Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities.
