The Assistant Weighmaster maintains records on rail car demurrage, types, and weights, and reviews invoices and freight bills to ensure accurate recordkeeping. This role tracks inbound and outbound rail cars transporting raw materials and finished products, weighs empty and loaded rail cars as well as interplant scrap loads, and maintains accurate records of all transactions. The Assistant Weighmaster also receives incoming phone and two-way radio communications, relays information to the appropriate personnel, prepares correspondence, and enters rail car, raw material, and product information into the General Yards Department computer system.
