Description Benefits Position Purpose/Summary Responsible for the aquatic facility operations including, but not limited too, supervising the life guarding team and bath attendants, maintaining the facility, planning and conducting in-service trainings, completing all required paperwork and for the safety of the patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.

Essential Functions • Ensuring the safety of the facility patrons and lifeguard team • Supervising the lifeguard team/bath attendants • Supervising the safety inspections, general care, and cleaning of the facility • Enforce all aquatic rules, policies, and regulations to ALL patrons • Make sure all paperwork is completed fully and correctly • Conduct regular in-service training sessions and document results • Ensure all users are signed in properly and have I.D.'s • Instruct, assign, supervise, and evaluate lifeguards in the performance of their duties - document everything

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Thorough knowledge and application of life guarding surveillance and rescue techniques • The ability to instruct, assign, supervise, and evaluate lifeguards in the performance of their duties • An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, polices, and procedures • Leadership and public relation skills • Decision making skills / ability to problem solve • Supervisory management skills • Ability to identify hazards and unsafe practices and to make suitable recommendations for minimizing or eliminating those hazards • Application of all forms and proper usage

Education and Experience One year lifeguard experience preferred Current certification in the following is needed: • American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard Training/First Aid • American Red Cross or American Heart CPR for the Professional Rescuer • American Red Cross Waterfront Life guarding, if working at 5-Mile Pond
