JOB DESCRIPTION: Assistant Volleyball Coach Temporary

Qualifications:

  • Current Alabama Teacher's Certification (preferred) or classified dependent upon qualifications of the person holding the position
  • Previous Experience in sports as a participant and/or coach (preferred) but not required
  • Completion of all requirements set forth by the AHSAA Coaches' Education Program
  • Must have or be willing to obtain CDL
  • Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of volleyball and a willingness to examine new theories and procedures

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Assists the Head Volleyball coach with instructing student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical conditioning necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success
  • Ability to work with players, parents, administration, and other coaches
  • Assists the head volleyball coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition
  • To adhere to the MPS Athletics Code of Ethics and Conduct for Sports Coaches
  • Attend the AHSAA sponsored rules clinic for his/her sport
