The New Berlin West Athletics and Activities Department is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Varsity Football Coach for the 2026 season. We are looking for an individual to join a winning culture characterized by strong community support and a decade of sustained playoff success. This role is primarily focused on the offensive side of the ball, specifically working with Wide Receivers and perimeter concepts. The successful candidate will be a mentor to student-athletes, emphasizing both skill development on the field and character building off the field.
Primary Responsibilities
Position Coaching: Lead the daily instruction and technical development of Wide Receivers and perimeter offensive players.
Game Planning: Collaborate with the Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator to develop weekly game plans, identify opponent weaknesses, and implement perimeter offensive strategies.
Practice Execution: Design and lead high-energy, fundamental-focused individual drill periods (EDD) during daily practices.
Film Study & Analysis: Utilize HUDL (or current district software) to review practice and game film with players, providing constructive feedback and scouting reports.
Player Mentorship: Monitor student-athlete academic progress and personal development, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Game Day Duties: Execute assigned roles during games, including sideline communication, personnel substitutions, and real-time tactical adjustments.
Recruitment/Retention: Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes within the building to maintain the program's competitive depth.
