This includes criminal prosecutions for violations of federal law, civil lawsuits by and against the government, and actions to collect judgments and restitution on behalf of victims and taxpayers. This vacancy may be filled in either Tallahassee, FL or Pensacola, FL.Job DescriptionWe are seeking experienced attorneys with superb research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, and a background in criminal law, to fill the position of Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the NDFL Criminal Division.The core responsibilities of this position include:Investigating and prosecuting drug trafficking, including trafficking of fentanyl and its precursor chemicals, and illegal drug use.Immigration matters, including but not limited to:Gang‑related crimes involving aliens;Child trafficking and smuggling involving aliens within the United States;Unlawful voting by aliens;Firearms trafficking and smuggling involving aliens;Violations of the Alien Registration Act;Violations of or fraud relating to Title IV of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act.Additional responsibilities may include civil defensive litigation related to immigration enforcement, and other duties as needed while representing the U.S. Government in criminal prosecutions.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:J.D. degree and admission to the bar in any U.S. jurisdiction.At least one year of post‑J.D. legal or other relevant experience.U.S. citizenship.All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.Application ProcessThe application package should include:Responses to the online Occupational Questionnaire (completed during the online application process).A resume not exceeding two pages.Additional information on the application process and required documents is available via USAJOBS.
