Position Details:

The Opportunity:

Serves as a member of the senior leadership team within the Office of the Vice Provost of Student Affairs. Provides support of a substantial and confidential nature to the Vice Provost. Serves as the primary point of contact for the Vice Provost with both internal and external constituencies, assists and represents the Vice Provost in communicating with constituents. Researches, prioritizes, and follows-up on multiple issues and concerns addressed to the office principal, including those of a sensitive and/or confidential nature. Leads, manages and advances a variety of strategic projects for the department, Student Affairs Division, Campus/University. Duties include but are not limited to providing comprehensive administrative support, responsible for maintaining open communication and collaboration among internal and external constituents; project planning and management; research; event coordination; office management, and strategic planning. The incumbent is proactive, strategic, responsive, undertakes projects with little direction or guidance, and effectively analyzes and summarizes information for reports. Work and information handled is of a nature regularly requiring confidentiality and the exercise of discretion.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement

Monthly Salary:

$4,942.10 - $7,569.55 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or other relevant field AND five (5) years of managing administrative support experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evening and occasional weekends.

  • Computer software skills, including the ability to use office software, such as databases, spreadsheets, word processing.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of policies and procedures in a complex academic institution or similar, complex organization.

  • Experience in handling personnel administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional work experience in a higher education environment, or similar.

  • Experience working in a fast paced, collaborative, and high-volume office setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide and diverse range of constituents including students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members.

  • Work experience providing support to a leadership position and assistance to other leadership roles.

  • Experience working with an enterprise level program for accomplishing administrative tasks (business functions, scheduling, travel, etc.).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage several projects in various states and prioritize each project, including those with varying levels of engagement (leader, team member, support).

  • Demonstrates close and timely attention to detail and preemptive planning.
