Job Duties Virginia Military Institute Athletics, an NCAA Division I member and member of the America East Conference, is seeking an Assistant Swimming Coach. The successful candidate will:

  • Assist in organizing and directing all phases of the Swimming Program.
  • Recruit and evaluate potential student-athletes.
  • Coordinate team travel arrangements.
  • Design and implement training programs focused on athlete development, injury prevention, and performance enhancement.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff, athletic department, and VMI administration to support student-athlete academic progress and personal development.
  • Perform administrative duties and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
  • Ensure compliance with VMI, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelors degree as well as coaching experience.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license.
  • Demonstrated success in training, mentoring, and developing student-athletes.
  • Proven track record in recruiting and retaining quality student-athletes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach to working with staff and administrators.
