Roles and Responsibilities Assistant Superintendent

Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Act as Project Lead and Company Representative supporting the PM and Superintendent fostering a good working relationship with our subs, vendors and client representatives.
- Manage staff to Plan daily for labor, equipment, tools and material needs.
- Manage Foremen to complete required tasks as a team.
- Hold Foremen accountable to track crew hours, equipment hours, material and quantities on a daily basis.
- Assure daily JHA's and Toolbox Safety Talks with crew(s) are completed.
- Hold crews accountable to work safely and assure PPE is utilized as required per the UIG Safety Manual.
- Assure work planning has been completed for activities prior to execution of the work. Follow up with Foremen that the "Plan the Work and Work the Plan" concept is being enforced.
- Coordinate daily with Subcontractors to assure they are prepared and ready for required work when needed and are incompliance with both schedule and safety requirements for the project.
- Communicate layout requirements as needed in advance of scheduled work.
Project Engineers with 3 week lookahead schedules and work planning.
- Understand the production requirements of the work.
- Assure team has the manpower and equipment needed to perform the work.
- Assure Foremen are enforcing daily equipment inspections and they are complete and submitted to the management team.
- Pre-plan utility locates and assure project is accurately marked prior to starting work.
- Assure to coordinate with inspectors as needed.
- Coordinate with Engineers on Plans and Specifications for work.
- Coordinate MOT, proper execution of MOT and compliance with project specifications and requirements.
- Ensure proper lift planning and rigging requirements are met on all critical and non-critical lift work.
- Ensure the trained and certified riggers and signal persons are incorporated into the crane and rigging operations as required.
- Ensure the crews utilizing Cranes have certified Crane operators on the crew as required. (Supervisors can be included as part of this requirement)
Position requirements include:
- Basic abilities to use and or learn MS Word, Excel, also (COINS Systems).
- Willing and able to manage crews.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Self-starter and ability to work unsupervised.
- Team player and self-motivated to be successful.
- Travel required.
- Legally able to work in the US.
- Valid Driver's License.
