Position PurposeAssistant Store Managers in Training learn the responsibilities and functions of Assistant Store Manager, Operations Assistant Store Manager, Night Operations Assistant Store Manager, and Specialty Assistant Store Manager. They support the Store Manager in developing strategies and objectives to drive store sales and profitability through effective leadership and communication to associates.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Customer Service Initiatives: supervise Associates in the selling effort, ensure the store's in-stock position, and maintain an appealing and organized store.Staffing and scheduling, identify and resolve stock deficiencies, supervise Associates in selling behaviors, resolve customer issues, and support service needs for installed sales, special orders, and product sales.Supervise Store Associates: interview, hire, motivate, coach, train, develop, and communicate to associates, conduct semi‑annual performance reviews, and execute disciplinary processes when necessary.Operations Management: supervise front‑end sales and return transactions, special services, lot support, and oversee back‑end processes including receiving and freight teams to ensure merchandise is received and stocked appropriately.Operate all store equipment and systems, manage daily financial operations, and develop a command of store SOPs, especially Safety compliance.Business Analysis and Merchandise Planning: drive department profitability through sales trend analysis, plan merchandise placement and signing with key partners, and support stock integrity through inventory management.Direct Manager / Direct ReportsReport to the Store Manager; upon completion of training assume supervision of associate work activities.Travel RequirementsTypically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.Physical RequirementsMost of the time spent sitting, with frequent opportunity to move; occasional need to move or lift light items.Working ConditionsLocated in a comfortable indoor area; any unpleasant conditions are infrequent and not objectionable.Minimum QualificationsMust be eighteen years of age or older.Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.Preferred QualificationsNo additional qualifications.Minimum EducationHigh school diploma and/or GED.Preferred EducationNo additional education.Minimum Years of Work Experience3 years.Preferred Years of Work ExperienceNo additional years of experience.Minimum Leadership ExperienceNone.Preferred Leadership ExperienceNone.CertificationsNone.CompetenciesActs with Integrity: role model for ethical behavior; consistent and fair in dealings with others.Product Knowledge: knows and effectively promotes all areas, products, services, and procedures; knows the competition.Excels in Customer Service: creates customer‑focused environment; provides excellent service.Inspires Achievement: initiates actions to develop Associates; provides performance feedback and recognizes accomplishments.Safety Orientation: enforces safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model.Delivers Results: creates a sense of urgency; delegates appropriately; motivates self and team to accomplish objectives.#J-18808-Ljbffr
