Job Purpose
The AssistantService CenterManager will createan environment that inspires and engages the Service Center team to deliver results.Accountable for the successful execution of safe and efficient Service Center operations, business strategy, customer service, and consistent compliance with MRC procedures and controls.
Salary Range
$78,002.00 - $87,483.00, depending on position qualifications, job-related skills and experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures all required incident reporting is performedin a timely manner using the appropriateprocess.
Oversee the implementation of corrective measures arising from incident investigations and hazard reports.
Assistsand supports the Service Center Manager in the preparation of the cost budget.
Monitorworkflowsthroughout the Service Center to ensuretimelyaccomplishment of service,warehouseandlogisticsduties.
Assists the Service Center Manager with ensuring cycle count programs are executed according to plan.
Activelyanticipateand solve work-related problems.
Create a plan to effectively manage any workload changes.
Motivate employees, encourage employeegrowthanddevelopment.
Set clear expectations and measure results.

Providetimely, candid feedback and hold people accountable.

Administer, communicate, and promote awareness and compliance with MRC policies,procedures,and expectations to all employees,includingstrict enforcement of DOT and SOX compliance guidelines.
Performs assigned duties as delegated by the Service Center Manager.
Assistswith the development of the annual Service Center business plans toidentifyservice and efficiency improvements.
Supports as needed inside sales activities including quoting, sourcingmaterials,customer service,purchasing, inventory control, shipping and receiving, or support to sales personnel.
Shares market intelligence and sales opportunities with Regional Sales personnel.
Support regional and corporate sales resources to deliver the service requiredto support newbusiness.
Identifyand implement solutions to customers’ needs.
Work with Regional Sales and National Accounts todeterminehow to charge the customer foradditionalservices.
Support andmaintainstandards that deliver service excellence.
Assistwith resolutions of Accounts Receivable issues thatpreventMRC Global from collecting payment for goods and services provided.
Communicate honestly and consistently to reaffirm MRC Global's reputation for ethical and dependablepartnerships.
Establisha friendly and effective working relationship with customers and internal partners through in-person visits, written and verbal correspondence, and other effective interpersonal skills.
Managing confidential information appropriately,includingpricing and contract information, resale costs, and expense items.
Carry out other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job.

Education, Experience & Ability Requirements
Any combination of requirements thatprovidesthe knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities will be considered.
An undergraduatedegree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Minimum of 3+ years in customer service, inside sales and/or warehouse services in a position with increasing responsibility, to includedemonstratedleadership/supervisory experience.
Must havea current, valid driver’s license and an acceptable record at all times.
Demonstratedcompetence in the use of computers and software applications.
Demonstratedability to communicate and promote ideas and transfer detailed knowledge to others.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Willingnessand ability to be on callareneeded to provide 24-hour service to customers.
Willingness and ability to travel within and outside branch service area, with occasional overnight stays.
Certification or ability to be certified tooperatefork trucks, overhead cranes, and other heavy equipment.
Valid Driver’s license with the ability to meet the MRC Global vehicle policy.

Ability to read and speak the English language proficientlytocommunicate with others,understandand interpret safety instructions, and respond to inquiries.
