Assistant Director of Security

Location: Lima, OH

Pay: $48,000 Annual Salary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Security to join our team at a facilities management/manufacturing site in Lima, Ohio. This leadership role supports the Director of Security in overseeing daily security operations, supervising security personnel, maintaining a safe and secure environment, and ensuring compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.

This position is primarily scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additional and varied hours may be required as needed to provide operational support, staffing coverage, emergencies, special events, or client needs.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Security with the daily management of site security operations.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and support security officers to ensure professional performance and adherence to post orders.
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, shift coverage, and payroll/timekeeping functions.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with company and client expectations.
  • Respond to incidents, emergencies, and security concerns, preparing accurate reports and documentation.
  • Assist with investigations involving security incidents, policy violations, or workplace concerns.
  • Ensure all officers maintain required certifications, licensing, and training.
  • Foster positive working relationships with client representatives, employees, visitors, and emergency responders.
  • Support the implementation and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist with performance evaluations, corrective action documentation, and employee development.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
  • Serve as acting site leader in the absence of the Director of Security when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support site operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous security experience is required.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in security is strongly preferred.
  • Valid Ohio Security Guard Card is required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in fast-paced situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications is preferred.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods and respond to emergencies as needed.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Director of Security and works closely with the Regional Director, Branch Manager, and Regional Vice President to ensure operational excellence, client satisfaction, and compliance with company standards.
