Overview
Our client is a leading pharmaceutical company lookin for an entry level candidate. In this role the Assistant Scientist is responsible for supporting studies to establish oral solid formulations. This includes execution of laboratory and pilot plant work, design experimental formulation studies, and conduct material characterization and formulation testing. Ideal candidates should have a bachelors degree and experience with HPLC and dissolution.

Responsibilities

• Support studies to establish oral solid formulations through laboratory and pilot plant work
• Design experimental formulation studies and conduct material characterization and formulation testing
• Develop and optimize oral formulations using design of experiment approaches
• Conduct material characterization using techniques such as DSC and TGA
• Perform formulation testing including HPLC and dissolution techniques
• Travel between NJ sites Summit and New Brunswick to access laboratories and equipment for experiments

• Bachelor's degree in science or engineering or related discipline (advanced degree preferred)
• 0-3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in formulation development or spray dried dispersion
• Experience in oral formulation preparation and testing techniques, including HPLC and dissolution
• Knowledge of data trending and tracking, including use of statistical analysis software a plus
• Ability to work 80-90% in manufacturing and laboratory settings and 10-20% in an office environment
