ROLE SUMMARY

This is a high-visibility operations and customer management role supporting the Branch Manager in the day-to-day leadership of a busy distribution business unit. The right candidate is a sharp, process-oriented professional who can manage complex project coordination, build strong customer and supply chain relationships, and drive continuous improvement across sales, service, warehouse, and logistics functions. This role is well-suited for someone on a clear path toward branch leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Branch Manager in leading day-to-day business unit operations across sales, service, warehouse, and logistics
  • Coordinate the complex sales, procurement, and logistics requirements of project-based customer engagements to ensure delivery expectations are met
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, and supply chain partners to drive project business growth
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and customer service within the business unit
  • Monitor workflows across the project team to ensure the timely execution of sales and service commitments
  • Understand and manage the complexity of multiple concurrent customer projects, strategically allocating resources to meet or exceed expectations
  • Lead employees to anticipate and solve problems, plan for workload changes, and maintain high performance standards
  • Support the development and execution of annual business plans, including maintenance of current business and pursuit of new opportunities
  • Research and develop information on new projects and emerging growth opportunities in key markets
  • Champion a safety-first culture through active engagement with safety guidelines, hazard identification, and corrective action follow-through
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, DOT regulations, and SOX controls
  • Maintain confidentiality of pricing, contracts, labor costs, and sensitive business information
  • Keep branch and regional leadership informed of business unit performance and relevant market intelligence

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
  • Experience in distribution, industrial supply, project coordination, or a related operations environment
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and hold a team accountable
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and customer relationships simultaneously
  • Proficiency with standard business software and ERP/order management systems
  • Effective communicator with the ability to present information clearly in one-on-one and small group settings
  • Willingness and ability to travel within and outside the business unit service area, with occasional overnight stays
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required
