Position OverviewThe Assistant Projects Engineer will serve as a technical liaison and resource to leadership, District State Aid Engineers, MnDOT, and local agencies regarding the State Aid roadway system, including administrative Rules 8820 and related programs, committees, and working groups. Key programs supported include the State Aid Design Advisory Committee, State Park Road Account, the Variance Program, and the Local Partnership Program.ResponsibilitiesAct as a technical liaison and resource to leadership, District State Aid Engineers, MnDOT, and local agencies on the State Aid roadway system.Support administrative Rules 8820 and other related programs.Participate in committees and working groups related to State Aid projects.Assist with the State Aid Design Advisory Committee, State Park Road Account, Variance Program, and Local Partnership Program.Minimum QualificationsProfessional Engineer licensure with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or a temporary permit from AELSLAGID if obtained through reciprocity.Experience with highway engineering practices and principles.Experience with pavement maintenance practices.Knowledge of FHWA regulations, policies, and delegated contract processes used for approval of local federal projects.Preferred QualificationsGeneral knowledge of Minnesota Rules Chapter 8820 and State Aid Policies.Public speaking experience.Additional RequirementsSuccessful candidate must pass past‑employer reference checks and a criminal history background check.
