1. Project Description: Under the supervision of the Senior Director Project Management assist with Stations Capital Projects.
2. Professional/Technical Title: Assistant Project Manager
3. Duration of Service Required: 2,080 hours.
4. Normal Work Week: Monday- Friday and weekend work as required.
5. No. of Hours Per Week: 40 Hours6. Hours of Work: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (8 hours + 1⁄2 hour unpaid lunch)
• 50% Technical and 50% Administrative
• 80% Field, 20% Office
• Right-of-Way access is required.

10. Qualifications Requirements:
• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Engineering or Business
• An associate degree from an accredited college in Engineering
11. Experience Requirements:
• A minimum of at least four years of full-time experience performing project management
work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting on engineering
projects, or supervising a construction project with a value of $20 million or more.
• At least one year of supervisory experience or at least one year as a project manager for a
large and/or complex construction projects.
12. Licensing & Certification Requirements:
• Thirty-hour OSHA Certification and eight-hour Lead Awareness Course are required.
• Must pass a One-day New York City Transit "NYCT” Track Safety training provided by
NYCT prior to participating any in work Capital Program projects.
13. Special Skills/Training Requirements:
• Ability to read and interpret Contract drawings & specifications.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards preferred.
• Demonstrated project management experience.
• Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Word, Access and
• Excel. Computer-Aided Design and Drafting "CADD” experience is desirable but not
required.
• The ability to communicate effectively with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Organize project information, prepare reports and presentations, and interact/communicate
with contractors and other departments.
• Knowledge or experience with capital construction procedures and field operations.
• Knowledge or experience with construction scheduling and estimating.
• Knowledge or experience with NYCT operations and mass transit facilities are preferable.
• The ability to coordinate with a multitude of users such as operations and engineering
personnel
14. Description of Work:
Provide field support with an emphasis on work performed by a third-party contractor during construction and design, including the following:
• Provide project management support service during design for overseeing the design
consultant performing the stations condition survey.
• Ensure work complies with contract documents
• Complete all required paperwork for contract
• Provide support during the inspection and quality control/quality assurance furnishing an
installing of all material and equipment during close-out.
• Assist in the inspection of communications construction projects; monitoring and
coordinating several types of project activities, working independently under general
supervision.
• Work with Resident Engineer in meeting the project goals and provide support to the Project
Management Consultant/Consultant Construction Management, attending project
coordination meetings with stakeholders preparing meeting minutes and following up on
action items.
• Monitor safety ensuring all personnel, including NYCT/MTA C&D personnel, Contractor,
and Subcontractors, comply with safety requirements of the contract.
• Prepare regularly and in a timely manner Daily Reports, Quality and Safety Check Lists and
Reports, Field Condition Survey Reports, Field Sketches, scopes of work for change orders,
estimates, additional work order packages and any other report as required by the Senior
Director Project Management.
• Prepare, submit, and coordinate necessary requests for NYCT/MTA C&D Services, such as
Flagging, Access & Protection, etc.
• Assist with project budget, schedules, and construction activities.
• Report to the Senior Director Project Management

Proper footwear required to perform tasks in a safe manner.
