Description
The Residential Construction Assistant Project Manager will:
- Support Project Managers with the day-to-day management of residential construction projects
- Coordinate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and permits
- Assist in maintaining project schedules and tracking milestones
- Build and maintain relationships with homeowners, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants
- Assist with contract administration and subcontractor management
- Help monitor project budgets, commitments, and cost reporting
- Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules
- Participate in project meetings and distribute meeting minutes and action items
- Track inspections, permit requirements, and compliance documentation
- Support Quality Assurance and Quality Control efforts throughout construction
- Assist with project closeout, punch list completion, and warranty documentation
- Ensure project files and construction software systems remain organized and up to date
Profile
The successful Assistant Project Manager will have:
- 1-4 years of residential construction experience
- Experience with a General Contractor, homebuilder, developer, or specialty subcontractor preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
- Understanding of residential construction practices, scheduling, and project documentation
- Experience with construction management software preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Desire to grow into a Project Manager role
