Seeking a dedicated Assistant Project Manager to assist with scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and managing technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality. The APM is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines of ongoing projects and will establish inspection criteria for the proper implementation of all the elements of a project. This company, which is experiencing consistent growth, is renowned in the Alabama market with regards to all manor of Commercial project types. Their ideal portfolio consists of larger work ($20M + per project) but they will take on a broad range of work in order to continue expanding their market share and maintaining a consistent local workflow. This client, based originally in Huntsville but with two offices statewide, is seeking a growth-oriented Assistant Project Manager to joint their home operation and help drive the growth plan in that area. This role involves minimal travel, and provides very competitive benefits. DescriptionParticipate in regular meetings with clients to ensure clarification and meet specific requirements in a timely manner. Delegate tasks to team members according to their individual skill sets, experience, and abilities to ensure efficient completion of the project. Maintain budgets and adjust with oversight by the Project Manager according to needs as they arise. Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals. Document and report project progress to upper management and clients. Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned engineering projects. Formulating project parameters with Project Manager and assigning responsibilities to the most capable employees and monitoring the project team. Interacting with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and representing them in the field.Performing quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project's status. Cooperating and communicating with the project manager and other project participants and collaborating with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability. Reviewing the engineering tasks and initiating the necessary guidance or corrective actions required. Ensuring the project's material/installation compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specificationsProfileA bachelor's degree or master's degree in construction, engineering, or related field. One to three years of experience with a Commercial GCExcellent computer literacy and knowledge of construction and scheduling software. The ability to work with multiple discipline projects. Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
