Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager supports all aspects of medium and high voltage substation projects by assisting Project Managers with project coordination, reporting, and client communication. This role is responsible for helping ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the full project lifecycle including planning, estimating, scheduling, procurement, execution, and closeout.
  • Work closely with internal teams, field staff, subcontractors, and clients to maintain project progress and resolve issues.
  • Assist in project financial tracking, cost control, schedule management, and contract-related activities.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ years working in the construction industry as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Coordinator, ideally in utilities construction.
  • Experience with tracking project costs, budgets, and schedules.
  • Engineering or Construction Management Degree.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Procore.
  • Understanding of project management and financial principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and electrical drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting substation or electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Permitting and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Work Environment

The role involves a combination of office and field-based work with frequent interaction with project teams, superintendents, and clients. Travel to job sites is required depending on project needs (10%-20%). The environment is fast-paced, supporting multiple active projects.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bremen, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.08 - $32.69/hr.
